Police say a lone male entered the store wearing a mask, approached the clerk and demanded money. The male did not display a weapon and fled with cash from the register.

Responding officers discovered an abandoned stolen vehicle a short distance away. It had been stolen minutes before the robbery from a business parking lot on Riverside Street in Portland.

Shortly after the robbery, a second vehicle was reported stolen from the driveway of a nearby residence on Bridgton Road. That vehicle was recovered after the Windham Police Department investigated a disturbance on Haven Road in Windham.

It had been operated by 30-year-old Michael J. Gray of Portland.

Investigators arrested Gray in connection with the robbery. Gray is on probation for robbery with the Maine Department of Corrections. He is being held without bail at the Cumberland County Jail.
