ANDOVER — The Pineland Ski and Outing Club will host the Andover Winter Carnival on Saturday, March 2.

This event caters to cross-country skiers, sledders and snowshoer of all ages. Free events include sledding, guided ski and snowshoe tours of the Akers Family Trails, “selfie” scavenger hunt, and fun agility course to test maneuverability for all ages.

Fee events, at $5 per person, are the two-person team sprints (ages 14 and under) and the “Bumps Run,” an interval start downhill cross-country ski challenge for all ages. Online registration is at skireg.com/andover-winter-carnival. Registration is also available at the event.

Teams can email run orders to fredbaileytraildesign@gmail.com by 6 p.m. Feb. 28. Checks can be made to Pineland Ski & Outing Club.

The schedule is:

8 to 9:30 a.m. — Registration and bib pickup at Andover Elementary School.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — “Selfie” scavenger hunt, agility course, touring trails open.

9:30 to 10:50 a.m. — Team sprints, start/finish by the “bog” at the Akers Family Trails.

11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. — Sledding at the “bog” at the Akers Family Trails.

10:30 a.m. — Ski and snowshoe tours depart from Andover Elementary School.

10:40 a.m. — Ski and snowshoe tours depart from relay start/finish.

Noon to 1 p.m. — Lunch break. The fifth grade class will hosting a chili/chowder cook-off, with samples available at six for $5. Cups are available for $3 and bowls for $5. Bottled water is $1. Baked foods will be for sale. All proceeds help support their end-of-the-year field trip.

1:30 p.m. — “Bumps Run” starts. Note that the Akers Family Trails are fun, narrow, old-fashioned classical skiing trails only.
