AUBURN — A local man and woman were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston on Monday night after their cars collided on Turner Road.

Sgt. Steve Gosselin of the Auburn Police Department said Paul Libby, 37, of Lewiston was driving in the wrong direction in the northbound lane of Turner Road when his Subaru Legacy collided with the Ford Fusion driven by Lily Grant, 20, of Auburn.

Grant had to be extricated from her car because it was badly damaged on the driver’s side, Gosselin said.

Both Grant and Libby complained of pain and were taken to CMMC.

Gosselin said Libby was charged with a single count of driving to endanger.

Traffic was delayed on Turner Road for about 45 minutes due to the crash, which occurred at about 9:30 p.m.
