Carol (Albert) Whitman

SOUTH PARIS – Carol (Albert) Whitman of Norway, formerly of Bryant Pond, passed away peacefully at her son’s home surrounded by her loving family on Feb. 15, 2019, at the age of 76.

She was born in Barre, Vt. on June 16, 1942, to Alonzo and Emma Albert. She married Herbert Whitman on April 20, 1963, and resided in Bryant Pond, Maine, until the passing of Herb in 2000 when she moved to Norway. When she wasn’t spending time with her grandchildren, she was playing golf which she loved, and even shot three holes-in-one. She retired as Town Manager of Greenwood in 2004.

She is survived by her son, David Whitman and his wife, Joelle; son, Brian Whitman and his wife, Monica; daughter, Leigh Ann Cyr and her husband, Rob. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, Randi Whitman, Brett Cossar, Lindsey Cyr, Kyle Whitman, Courtney Cyr, Heath Whitman, Kirsten Corey, Emily Raymond; great-granddaughters, Alia, Braelynn and Nora; her stepgrandchildren, Brandon Riordan and son, Owen, Siobhan Murtiff and children, Kevin and Briana, Shauna Riordan, Ryan Riordan and son, Nolan.

Carol is also survived by her sister, Joanna Glidden and late husband, Allen; brother, Robert Albert and wife, Sharon; brother, John Albert; brother, Richard Albert and wife, Debbie; brother, Ronald Albert and wife, Marilyn; sister, Diane Clark and late husband, Larry; sister-in-law, Sylvia Doughty and late husband, Stan; brother-in-law, Donald Whitman; sister-in-law, Patty Whitman and late husband, Larry; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sister, Claudette Blais and late husband, Robert; and sister, Georgette Smets.

Carol’s family would like to extend special gratitude to her hospice nurse, Paulette Tabb and the entire Androscoggin Home Hospice team.
