AUBURN — Kristine Corey of the Better Business Bureau will be keynote speaker for the Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Club from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Village Inn, 165 High St.

Corey is committed to a year of service with AmeriCorps as an energy efficiency coordinator for The Maine Partnership for Environmental Stewardship based at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn Campus in Lewiston.

Through campus/community partnerships, she is focused on increasing energy efficiency and cost savings for economically disadvantaged populations by hosting environmental education events, conducting free home energy consultations and connecting people with energy conservation resources.

Corey graduated from the University of Vermont in 2016, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental studies and a minor in gender and women’s studies.

Prior to AmeriCorps, she did outreach for solar companies, organized student marches, was an assistant teacher for environmental studies classes, and dabbled in the GIS field for a while.

She is also a cheesemonger at Whole Foods Market, selling cheese to people and working with a team of people to foster and build the Green Mission at the store.

She lives in South Portland with two humans, two cats, two fish, one dog and three rats.

Guests are welcome to attend the talk and no reservations are required. Lunch will be available at the restaurant. For more information contact club President Thomas MacDonald at 207-333-4588, follow the club on Facebook, or visit lewistonauburnrotary.org.
