AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library has announced its teen events for March.

Maine Job Corps — Teens and new adults, ages 16-24. If you had the opportunity to take part in a life-changing experience that gave you the skills you need to succeed in today’s job market, and it didn’t cost anything, would you be interested? Contact Cathie Gavett of the Maine Job Corps at 207-458-5369 to find out more about the program and who is eligible. She will then arrange a mutually convenient time to meet at the library.

Teen Tech Week: Get Connected — March 4-8, Teen Tech Week gives libraries an opportunity to showcase all of the digital resources and services available to help teens succeed in school and prepare for college and beyond. This week teens are invited to stop by the Auburn Public Library and participate in Teen Tech Week Bingo. Pick up a game sheet at the reference desk, complete all nine bingo squares and turn the form in to be entered to win a Dunkin’ gift card. Activities include learning about the CREATE! Media Lab, downloading an e-book using cloudLibrary, exploring the Digital Maine Library, and writing a book review for Teens Talk Books on the library website.

Teen Life Skills Series 2019: Applying for a Job — From 3 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, Teen Space. The series continues with employment.  Teens will talk about how to look — and apply — for jobs. They will complete a generic job application and look at how to craft a resume. The program, for teens and new adults ages 15-19, will take place on the second floor.

Teens! Homework Help — 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, Teen Space.  Stop by the library to get help with time management, schedule planning, goal setting and learn how to be successful with homework. The program is for teens in grades seven-12 and will include a healthy snack.

Teens! Library Advisory Board — 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, APL Teen Space, and from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.  Wednesday, March 20, ELHS Library. The board (LAB) is a joint venture between the Auburn Public Library and the library at Edward Little High School.  Its mission is to create more awareness of and collaboration between both libraries, promoting everything the libraries offer to the teens in the community. The LAB meets bi-weekly, alternating meetings between the Auburn Public Library and Edward Little.  Teens interested in joining should be between the ages of 12 and 18, interested in community involvement and a lover of the library.  They do not have to be a student at EL. Teens! Dungeons & Dragon — 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursdays, March 7, 14, 21 and 28, Teen Space. Dungeons & Dragons is an adventure that is created by the Dungeon Master and the players.  The D&D group is led by Mike Hynes, a student at Edward Little, and meets every Thursday in the Teen Space. Although scheduled until 5:30, the meeting may go on beyond that time. All are welcome.

Safe Voices Drop-In Visit — 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Thursday, March 7, Teen Space. Teens! Meet with Jennifer from Safe Voices. Each month, she will visit the Teen Space to chat about relationships and work on projects.

Great Stories Club: What Makes A Hero? — 4:30 to 6 p.m. Monday, March 11, Teen Space. This month begins the next series of the Great Stories Club with “What Makes A Hero?  Self, Society and Rising to the Occasion.” Books to be read and discussed include “Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet” by Ta-Nehisi Coates & Brian Stelfreeze; “Maus II: A Survivor’s Tale: And Here My Troubles Began” by Art Spiegelman; “Binti” by Nnedi Okorafor; and “Buck: A Memoir” by M.K. SAPARS Drop in Visit — 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, Teen Space. Visit with Heather, an advocate from Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services. Each month, she will meet with teens to discuss the issues important to them, including consent, bullying, sexual assault and harassment, bystander intervention and internet safety. Visits may include question and answer, educational videos, or activities. All teens are welcome to drop in.

Tweens in the Teen Space — 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays, March 13 and 27, Teen Space. Sixth graders are invited to meet on half-day Wednesdays. There will be crafts or board games available or they can hang out or to get a head start on homework.

Teens! Gaming Hour — 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, March 13 and 27, Androscoggin Community Room. Stop by for video games and snacks. The library has XBox and Wii and a small collection of games. Teens are welcome to bring their favorites, but only those rated T and E. The hour is for teens, ages 12-18.

Teens! DIY Takeover — Bracelets: 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, Teen Space Each month featured a different DIY project. This month, make a basic bead bracelet, a wish bracelet or a paracord bracelet. The program is for ages 12-18 and will include a snack.

Outright LA Movie: “Pride” — 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23, Androscoggin Community Room. Auburn Public Library has partnered with Outright LA to offer a movie series for teens and new adults ages 14-21. This month’s selection is “Pride,” a story of  U.K. gay activists who work to help miners during their lengthy strike of the National Union of Mineworkers in the summer of 1984. The movie is rated R due to language and brief sexual content; due to the rating, teens under 17 must either be accompanied by a parent or guardian or bring a copy of the APL Movie permission slip, signed by a parent or guardian, to the viewing. Permission slip is available at the reference desk.
