JAY — A local man is accused of threatening his brother’s friend with a handgun and assaulting her Tuesday at a mobile home on BJ’s Lane, which is off Route 140.

Clifford L. Oliver, 53, is charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and misdemeanor assault, police Sgt. Russell Adams said.

Oliver’s girlfriend, Rebekah J. Kennison, 38, is accused of assaulting Oliver’s brother, Richard Oliver, and was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of assault, the officer said.

Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and an assault just before 9 p.m., Sgt. Russell Adams said.

Clifford Oliver pointed a handgun at the face of Richard Oliver’s female friend and said something like “‘I just wanted to show you what you could be looking at,'” Adams said, based on officer David Morin’s report.

Clifford Oliver is also accused of scratching the woman.
