Lorraine T. Vincent

SCARBOROUGH – Lorraine T. Vincent, 92, of Scarborough, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, at The Gosnell House, in Scarborough, with her loving family by her side. Lorraine was born on Jan. 10, 1927, in Livermore Falls. She was the daughter of Wilfred and Laura Ouellette Poisson. She spent her early childhood years in Livermore Falls and was an outstanding basketball player during her early high school years before moving to Lewiston.Lorraine met her husband, Louis Vincent, at a dance where it was love at first sight. Louis and Lorraine were married in Lewiston on Nov. 11, 1947. They spent 63 glorious years together before Louis passed away in 2010. Lorraine spent over 20 years working at the Ramada Inn, cleaning rooms with her sister, Pauline, while her grandchildren sneaked into the pool. Lorraine’s biggest love was her family and close group of friends. She showed her love by making the world’s best meat pies at Christmas, tending her garden and listening to music. She also loved rummaging through all the local garage sales, procuring an amazing collection of Lewiston’s finest knick-knacks and oddities. She also loved puzzles and horses, and especially puzzles featuring horses. Finally, Lorraine was not afraid to give a playful jab to the arm of any poor soul who would beat her at her favorite game, Canasta.Lorraine spent the last few years of her life battling dementia, in the care of her daughter, Jane Hart. She was also survived by her two sons, Norman and Gregory; four grandchildren, Sarah, Adam, Justin, Derek; and several great-grandchildren.
