Avery Lutrzykowski of St. Dominic Academy was named Thursday night as the winner of the second annual Becky Schaffer Award as the best senior girls hockey player in the state.

The other finalists were Zoe Mazur of Cheverus/Kennebunk/Old Orchard Beach, Sophia Venditti of Cape Elizabeth/Waynflete/South Portland and Emily Demers of Portland/Deering.

Travis Roy semifinalists announced

Three tri-county area players are among the four forwards, two defensemen and two goalies who were named Thursday as semifinalists for the Travis Roy Award, given to the best senior player in Class A boys’ hockey.

St. Dom’s goalie Gaston Fuksa, Lewiston forward Caden Smith and Lisbon’s Noah Austin, who plays forward for Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse/Hyde, are all semifinalists.

Bangor goalie Jacob Henry is the fourth semifinalist from the North.

Semifinalists from the South are forwards Mitchell Adams of South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete and Luke Chessie of Thornton Academy, and defensemen Donato Tocci of Portland/Deering and Garrett Tracy of Falmouth.

The four finalists will be announced after the state championship games next Saturday.
