Frances R. Thibaudeau Queen

LEWISTON – Frances R. Thibaudeau Queen, 94, passed away at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019. She was born in Wilton on Oct. 18, 1924 to C. Louis Hall and S. Pauline Campbell.

After graduating from Mexico High School, she married Maurice Thibaudeau; and they raised their four children there. Later she worked for Lamey Wellehan Shoe Store for 17 years.

Frances was an active member of St. Theresa Catholic Church as well as a ladies’ social group, Happy Homemakers. She enjoyed making ceramics and knitting. Frances also served as a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Senior Girl Scout Leader.

After Maurice’s death, Frances moved to St. Petersburg, Fla, where she met and married John Queen. They resided there for 23 years, enjoying activities such as Senior League Bowling Competitions, dancing, travelling, mini-golf, and days at the beach.

Frances was a caring person who volunteered for 20 years at a nursing home. She and her husband moved back to Maine in 2014, where he passed away in January of this year.

Her loss will be felt daily by her four children; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Her children include Judith Michaud (Gerard) of Andover; David Thibaudeau (Miriam) of Auburn; Lucinda Rickards (Ronald) of Winder, Ga.; and Michael Thibaudeau (Maria DePalma) of North Providence, R.I. Frances also leaves behind her sister, Maxine Deroche (95, of Oxford, along with her three children), and her half-brother, Frank Hall of Burke, Va. Her family will miss her smiling blue eyes, her quick wit, and playing games with her.

A Memorial Mass, graveside service, and reception will be held in July in Rumford.
