Geiger received the Environmental Leadership Award at the 25th anniversary gala of the Maine Institute for Family-Owned Business. Saying that Geiger was far and away the leader in its category, the judges praised the company’s 100% carbon-neutral shipping and its offsetting paper usage by planting trees. As part of its 2017 headquarters overhaul, Geiger installed 696 solar panels, the largest business array in the state, which generates 100% of the firm’s annual electricity usage. With the award are, from left, Laura Bosse, vice president, HR; Gene Geiger, chairman of the board; David Geiger, general counsel; and Kaitlynne Gibson, business development manager.
