Dick and Mary LaFontaine of Auburn finish setting up their holiday village at Museum L-A in Lewiston on Monday. Their collection started 24 years ago with The Grapes Inn, a piece from the Dickens Village Series of Department 56, and now includes 115 buildings and close to 500 pieces. Mary said she has spent about 80 hours setting up the village for the Merrymaking at the Mill opening reception from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bates Mill Complex off Chestnut Street. It will be the first time it hasn’t been displayed in their home at Christmastime. Visitors can also see the village this month during regular museum hours Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Daryn Slover/Sun Journal Buy this Photo
