Waterford author Robert Spenser recently spoke to Hebron Historical Society and detailed his latest book “Prospects”. With a backdrop of famous local gem discoveries beginning in the early nineteenth century his characters attempt to reap the riches of the mining potential of the surrounding towns. His story about mining Maine for riches features a book cover showing the very first tourmaline discovered at Mt Mica in South Paris in 1820.
