Auburn Fire Department Captain Chip Keene calls dispatch on his radio for the last time Thursday during a retirement ceremony for Keene at Central Station in Auburn. Keene's final 24-hour shift ended at 7 a.m. Thursday following a 25-year career with the department. Keene graduated from Lewiston High School in 1987 and joined the AFD on July 10, 1995. Keene was presented with the American flag that flew over the station on Keene's last day before he was driven to his home in Poland in Engine 3 with his crew Mike Schadtle and Ryan Demers, right.
