Madeline Roby Lavoie

AUBURN – Madeline Roby Lavoie passed away peacefully early Monday morning, Feb. 1, 2021, under hospice care at Clover Manor in Auburn.

She was born in Clarksville, N.H., on Jan. 19, 1926, daughter of Edward and Alma Hawes Roby. She received her education in Colebrook, N.H.

Madeline was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for her husband who was an auctioneer. She also had an antique shop in Mechanic Falls and did appraisals. Madeline enjoyed this and had many customers. Her two parrots, Mike and Lorette, and Bill, her parakeet, were her pride and joy. Her past times included lawn sales, word search and puzzles and John Wayne movies.

Survivors include her son, Rene and wife Marie of Lewiston, sister-in-law, Carol Lavoie of Connecticut, and many nieces and nephews including, Patricia Sirois, Marie McHale, Hazel Daley and many close friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rene, her parents and brother, Lawrence Roby as well as sister, Althea Forbes.
