We had several dozen correct answers for last week’s mystery photo of the new Veterans Plaza on the campus of Bates College in Lewiston located across from Wentworth Adams Hall, adjacent to the west side of the football field. It was constructed last summer and dedicated in October 2020. J.J. Cummings, an ’89 Bates graduate, was the keynote speaker during the virtual dedication. Cummings is the commander of the world’s largest and most powerful aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford. In a random drawing, Tim Kivus of Lewiston was chosen as the winner from all correct entries. It was an easy guess for Kivus as he works at Bates College. He will receive a $20 Hannaford gift card.
