Charles “Charlie” M. Chappell Jr.

NAPLES, Fla. – Charlie passed away peacefully Monday, Feb 1, 2021, at home with his wife Donna Mahoney-Chappell by his side, following years of declining health at the age of 89.

Charlie was born in Lewiston on May 1, 1931 to Charles M. and Ellie (Lyford) Chappell of Livermore Falls.

Charlie grew up and attended schools in Livermore Falls. He served his country in the U.S. Navy for five years. He worked for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 29 of Boston for 35 years. Charlie enjoyed hunting and fishing, going to spring training games for the Boston Red Sox in Fort Myers, Fla., and his beloved dogs, Norman, Princess and Junior.

He is survived by: his wife Donna; sons, Jeffrey and wife Cathy of Auburn, and David and wife Melissa of Hartford; his sisters, Nancy Chappell of Colorado, and Mary and husband Reggie Turcotte of Maine, his brother, Bob and wife Beverly of Maine; grandchildren, Jessica, Jason and wife Elaine, Crystal and husband Tucker Lannon, Jimmy, and Brea Stevenson; great-grandchildren, Daisy, Maya, Charles, David and Noah; and many nieces and nephews; also surviving, Charles III’s (widow) Becky Theriault.

Charlie was predeceased by his son, Charles “Chuck” III, daughter, Karla Arsenault; and grandson, Christopher; sisters, Anita Hunt and Madelyn Jones.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 135 and life member of both the VFW 7721 and AMVETS POST 23 of Naples, Fla.

Services will be held at a later date in Maine.
