Joanne (Picard) Langlois

LEWISTON – Joanne (Picard) Langlois passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loved ones. She fought a courageous battle against cancer.

Joanne was born Jan. 4, 1950, and was the daughter of Marcel and Muriel Picard. She was raised in Lewiston with her two sisters, Susan Caron and Jackie Pare. Along with a small group of friends, Joanne and her sisters enjoyed weekly breakfast gatherings, family get togethers, shopping, adventures and laughs.

Joanne married Marcel Langlois on Nov. 9, 1968. This beautiful 52-year marriage was one of true love and dedication. Joanne and Marcel raised six boys. In addition to these boys, Joanne opened up her home to many children either through her daycare, friends of the family, nieces and nephews, and neighborhood children. She was a second mom to many. As Joanne was a loving, warm, and open matriarch, and with her son’s getting older, her family expanded to include daughter in laws and long-term partners of her sons.

Joanne is survived by her husband, Marcel, and six boys, Michael Langlois and Stephanie Beaulieu, Scott Langlois and Julie Daniels, Jim Langlois, Bob and Jolene Langlois, David and Leanne Langlois, and Tom and Erica Langlois.

Joanne shared in every celebration, milestone, activity, and joy that her son’s experienced. She shared this same open and unconditional love and joy with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joanne showed this love in her many stories, her sideline cheering, consistent encouragement, unwavering support, shopping deals, sugary treats, ice cream socials, and family parties.

She loved to be surrounded by her grandchildren: Shauna, Kourtnee, Becca, Haylee, Hailey, Zach, Cameron, Ally, Mallory, Kaelyn, Tucker, Maia, Auguste, Reid, Audrey, Cooper, and Peyton; her great-grandchildren include: Jack, Finley, Evelyn, and Sullivan. Joanne was predeceased by her grandson, Colby.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic a memorial service honoring Joanne’s life will be celebrated privately. A Memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021, from 3-5 p.m., at the Pinette Dillingham and Lynch Funeral Home in Lewiston 784-4023.
