Louise Elliet Ruby

SABATTUS – Louise Elliet Ruby, 81, of Sabattus, passed away Tuesday morning Feb. 2, 2021 at her home with her loving family at her side. She was born in Lisbon on Sept. 28, 1939, a daughter of Gerard and Bertha (Poulin) Caron. Louise was educated in Lisbon schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On Sept. 15, 1956, she married George R. Ruby and together they settled in Lisbon to raise their family.

Louise worked for many years at Geiger Brothers until her retirement in 2002 and was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Church.

Among her favorite enjoyments were watching the birds out her windows, sitting on the porch swing with George and going for their walks, often seen holding hands. She and her George also enjoyed a few memorable trips traveling to destination places and creating great memories. Their favorite trips were to Alaska, Hawaii and Las Vegas.

But her most precious enjoyment was by far was her family. She enjoyed so many special times and moments with her husband, children and grandchildren and to her, family time was everything. As husband and wife, Louise and George were simply a most wonderful couple and best friends as they shared 64 years of marriage.

Louise was a loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She leaves behind her husband George R. Ruby of Sabattus; two daughters Joyce Sarchi and husband Charles of Turner, and Becky Jones and husband Mark of Lisbon, her son Peter Ruby of Sabattus; her five beloved grandchildren Danielle, Jered, Blaine, Kyle and Amanda; six great-grandchildren; her sister Claudette Stewart and husband Larry of Lewiston; and many beautiful nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by one sister Lorraine Bickford.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to her dear friend Cecile for the loving care she provided and a sincere thank you to all staff at Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice and to the entire staff at Central Maine Hematology-Oncology Associates for the kindness, care and support they provided.

At her prior request, there will be no services at this time. You are invited to share your condolence messages and fond memories with Louise’s family by visiting their on-line guestbook at http://www.advantageportland.com
