FARMINGTON – A Bangor man was taken by LifeFlight to Central Maine Medical Center after he was struck by a truck Saturday night on New Vineyard Road.

Sgt. Michael Lyman of the Farmington Police Department said that around 7:04 p.m., Troy Varney, 51, of Bangor was driving a 2003 Arctic Cat snowmobile in the area of 195 New Vineyard Road when he went to cross the street.

Lyman said that Varney was struck by a 2007 Dodge 2500 pickup truck driven by Robert Blake, 34, of Wilton.

Varney suffered head and facial trauma, according to Lyman, and was LifeFlighted to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Blake did not suffer any injuries in the collision.

Lyman said that no arrests were made and the accident remains under investigation.

New Vineyard Road was closed for about a half hour as Farmington Police and Fire departments, Northstar Ambulance and the University of Maine at Farmington Police responded to the crash.
