The Maine Nordiques (19-10-1, 39 points) avoided overtime as Sacred Heart recruit Aidan Connolly scored with 21 seconds remaining to give the Nordiques a 3-2 victory over the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks in a North American Hockey League East Division contest at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Connolly’s game-winner was setup by second year defenseman Luke Antonacci who has 11 assists on the year.

Auburn native and Army commit Reese Farrell gave the Nordiques a 1-0 lead with under six minutes remaining in the first period. Jack Strauss and Connolly had the assists.

With 43 seconds left in the first period, Mark D’Agostino tied the contest for the Jr. Hat Tricks (9-8-1, 19 points) with Porter Schachle setting the goal up.

Patrick Schmiedlin had the only goal of the second period with under three minutes remaining in the period as the Colorado College commit gave the Nordiques a 2-1 lead.

Andrew Eberling tied the game up at two midway through the third period for Danbury.

Avery Sturtz made 28 saves for his eighth victory on the season for the Nordiques while Josh Seeley made 36 saves for the Jr. Hat Tricks.

The three game series wraps up Sunday morning with a 11:30 a.m. puck drop at the Colisee.
