Max Homa missed a 3-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole, but won the Genesis Invitational in Los Angeles on the second playoff hole when Tony Finau failed to save par from a bunker on the par-3 14th.

Homa, who grew up 30 miles away in Valencia, walked off with his second PGA Tour victory. He closed with a 5-under 66 and played the final 26 holes without a bogey.

Homa and Finau finished at 12-under 272 on a Riviera course that was fast, firm and bouncy all week.

Sam Burns, who led from the opening round, shot a 69 and missed the playoff by one stroke.
