Everyone knows from the last four and one half years of my being active with #RESIST Central Maine that I am no supporter of Sen. Susan Collins. However, this time I have to commend and thank her for voting with her conscience, and the Constitution.
Trump has obviously stepped over many lines and many people during his tenure in the White House. He has ignored the Constitution every step of the way, and I believe that it took a lot of courage for Sen. Colllins to vote the way she did. In his Feb. 19 letter, Bob Hayes said it perfectly: “We must not let loyalty trump responsibility.”
So I thank Sen. Collins and the six other Republicans who had the courage to stand up for the Constitution.
