Edward Ellery Barbioni

LEWISTON – Edward Ellery Barbioni, 60, a resident of Canton, passed away, Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston after being transported by Life Flight, due to a previous heart condition. He was surrounded by his wife and three boys until he took his last breath.

He was born Sept. 15, 1960, in Lewiston, the son of Joseph P. Barbioni and Margaret (Mitchell) Barbioni. He attended school in Turner and graduated from Charles River Academy in Cambridge, Massachusetts in June of 1979. Ed decided to move back to Maine, where he met his beautiful wife, and soulmate, Debra Jean Brown. They married on Feb. 14, 1980, and quickly started their family, having three sons, Chris, Eddie and Jimmy. Now a family of five they moved to Lewiston until finding their family home in East Dixfield, where they lived for 36 years, until moving to their current home in Canton. Their home was always full of love with many laughs with family and friends.

Ed had many jobs and wore many different hats. He supported his family by working on vehicles and working in the woods. Ed owned his own garage from 1996-1998. It became too fast to manage, so Ed returned to working in the woods. He owned skidders, chainsaws and everything in between. His three boys worked by his side for many years. Ed started his hobby of buying and selling old antique cars and restoring them to their original glory. They both enjoyed spending time with their family, especially their grandchildren, many get-togethers, BBQ’s, holidays, and ice fishing took place at the at their new home. Ed fiercely loved his family and made sure everyone was taken care of.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Barbioni of Canton, sons, Chris Barbioni and wife Laurie of Jay, Edward Barbioni Jr. and wife Amanda of East Dixfield, and James Barbioni of Strong; grandchildren, Savannah, Kourtney, Kurt, Emily, Aliyah, Eziah, twins, Preston and Dresdon, Mark, Shaye and Kaiden; brothers, Roger Barbioni and wife Rachel of Oxford, Joseph Barbioni of Mount Vernon, and John Barbioni of Livermore Falls, many nieces and nephews and a “special little sister”, Coleen. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, March 4, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visiting hours will be from 12-1 p.m., prior to the funeral service. Interment in the spring at Moose Hill Cemetery, 31 Record Road, Livermore Falls, Maine.
