SABATTUS – Paula Anne (Splude) Duquette, 63, born in Portland, Feb. 17, 1958 to Betty (Greenlaw) and William Splude, died Monday, March 8, 2021 at her home in Sabattus. Paula passed away from COPD on her 46th wedding anniversary, peacefully, while holding her husband, Bob’s hands.

She was a very strong woman and greatly wanted to make it to her anniversary, which she did. Paula attended Lisbon schools and worked in most of the local nursing homes through the years. She loved being around the elderly and trying to make their day a little happier with her sometimes strange sense of humor.

Paula is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Duquette of Sabattus; her sons Robert Duquette Jr. and his wife, Dawn of Lewiston, Rusty Duquette of Sabattus; her two precious granddaughters, Dahlia and Lily Duquette of Sabattus; mother-in-law, who dearly loved her for the whole 46 years, Mrs. Shirley “Mom” Duquette of Sabattus; two sisters, Bonnie Staples and husband, Jay of Topsham, Lori McDougal and husband, John of Winthrop, four brothers, Daniel Splude and longtime girlfriend, Jane Cote of Lisbon, Randy Splude and wife, Angela of Lisbon Falls, Timothy Splude and wife, Jennifer of Lisbon, and Rusty Splude and wife, Jessica of Lisbon. She will also be sadly missed by her in-laws, Mary Jane and Gary Leet of Lisbon Falls, Debbie and Mark Bechard of Sabattus, Becky and Tom Tillich of Florida, Sandy and Clayton “Skip” McLaughlin of Sabattus, Brenda Duquette of Lewiston, Ricky and Tina Duquette of Lisbon Falls, Brian Duquette of Lisbon; as well as many nieces, nephews; and friends.

Paula was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, William Splude Jr. and David Splude, sister, Susan Snellen; and her father-in-law, Andre Duquette.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 21 at The Fortin Group Lewiston at 1 p.m.

A graveside service and burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sabattus at a yet to be determined date.
