From left to right: Shawn Smith and Ben Wetherill
Congratulations to Benjamin Wetherill on reaching the level of black belt under the instruction of Shawn Smith. Not only a student of Smith’s for 16 years, but a friend, training partner and fellow Foundry Rangeley Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor, Smith was probably as proud and happy as Wetherill himself.
“The black belt is the white belt who never quit, and Ben is no quitter. Ben is the sole original student remaining from the program started by my instructor Jon Lamarche in 2005 and has shown incredible dedication to reach this milestone. Proud of you my friend!” wrote Smith.
