RUMFORD – Nancy Demings, 64, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at the Rumford Hospital. She was a resident of Front Street in Rumford.

Born in Rumford, on Oct. 15, 1956, she was a daughter of John and Harriet (Coombs) Oldham. She was a graduate of Rumford High School class of 1974. Nancy was an artist, playwright and director. She was a director of Wingnuts Improv Comedy for 10 years.

Nancy was a member of the Dixfield Congregational Church, she loved to make doll houses and designed many fairy houses for the fairy trail at Worthley Pond. She loved to be on stage and as a theater director taught hundreds of students to “make every step a diamond and every word a pearl.”

Nancy was married in Peru, Maine, on May 5, 2006 to Robert Demings who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include two sons, Maxwell DeMilner and wife Amanda of Dover, N.H., and Kyle DeMilner of Verona, N.J.; sisters, Sheridan Oldham and husband David Kretzing of Rangeley and Julie Wysocki and husband Paul of Silverdale, Wash.; grandchild, Quinn DeMilner of Verona, N.J., her best friend of many years, Pam Daigle of Rumford.
