Bert Pelletier

LEWISTON – Bert Pelletier, 77, went home to his Lord and Savior on March 30, 2021, following a very sudden and brief illness. Bert was born in Lewiston, Maine, on Sept. 13, 1943. He attended Lewiston High School and then enlisted in the United States Air Force.

He met Anita Richard of Westbrook and married her in 1964. Together they had four wonderful children, Lisa, Paula, Bert and Scott.

Bert worked for Cottles / Hannaford as a produce manager. In 1987 he and Anita decided they had enough of the cold Maine winters and moved to Lakeland, Fla. He started a food truck that he enjoyed and ran for many years with his daughter Paula. He then worked for Food Lion and then went to work for his son Scott selling construction materials until he retired. His wife Anita passed in 2007.

Bert met Monique Pelletier in 2010. He and Monique enjoyed many happy times together. They enjoyed traveling, going to the casinos and to the beaches. Bert and Monique spent the last 10 summers in Turner at his son and daughter’s-in-law. They had a camper and enjoyed many evenings by the fire pit having visits with her many children and grandchildren, his son, Bert and his family and his friends, Dan and Dot. Bert had a big beautiful smile and an even bigger laugh. He loved his family and Monique’s family very much. And for those who knew him we cannot forget to mention his full head of white hair that was hard to miss!!

Bert is survived by his two sons, Bert and his wife Leslie of Turner, Maine, and Scott and his wife April of Lakeland, Fla., his two daughters, Lisa and her husband, Bobby Ford and Paula Buckner all of Lakeland, Fla. He had 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Alex and Jared Buckner, Faith Pelletier, Brandon and Dustin Ford, Emma, Joey and Sadie Pelletier, and Matthew Pelletier; and four great-grandchildren, Milan Robinson and Cole, Grayson and Amelia Buckner. Bert is also survived by his brother, Paul and his wife Eileen (predeceased) of Auburn, and his sister, Jeanine and her husband Robert Ayotte of Sabattus.

Bert’s sudden passing has left those who love him very saddened. He will be greatly missed.
