Lorraine Therese Blais Dube

AUBURN – Lorraine Therese Blais Dube, 90, passed away peacefully in the presence of her children on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn, Maine.

Lorraine was born on July 28, 1930, in Lewiston, Maine, to Romeo Blais and Regina Ruel Blais. She had one sister, Stella, who pre-deceased her.

She attended St. Patrick’s as well as Lewiston High School and Bliss Business College.

She was a working mother who spent most of her career at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, where she was the hospital’s first tumor registrar, for which she received commendation, as well as a medical transcriber.

Throughout her life, she delighted in making and gifting her hand-crocheted items to friends and family alike. To all who knew her, Lorraine was the most determined and hardest working person in their lives. Her greatest joys were family and friends, shopping for treasures, her pets and her faith. She also enjoyed her favorite treat, Blue Bunny ice cream, daily.

She is survived by her five children, Gregory and his partner Maria, Andrew and his partner Doris, Raye and her husband Henry, Marc and his wife Mary Ellen and Patricia and her husband Dana; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, who adored her.

The family would like to thank Dr. Strauss and Dr. Nash as well as the nurses and CNA’s in the ICU at St. Mary’s Hospital for the care they provided Lorraine.

A private ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 17, at Chandler Funeral Home, 45 Main Street, South Paris, Maine. A larger memorial service is planned for the summer. Online condolences may be shared with her family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com
