Walter “Beau” Foster Cyr

HUDSON, Fla. – It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the passing of our beloved Walter “Beau” Foster Cyr on April 5, 2021 in Hudson, Fla. from a courageous battle with cancer.

Walter Cyr, 44, was the last Bicentennial baby born in Lewiston on Dec. 31, 1976 to Walter Alyre Cyr and Barbara (Foster) Cyr and appeared in the front-page photo on the Snow Time Magazine. He attended Sabattus Elementary and graduated from Oak Hill High School. He then attended Maine Technical College from 1996-1999, received a certificate in welding and went on to work at Bath Iron Works. Walter enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Walter is survived by; his mother, Barbara Jean (Foster) Cyr of Hudson, Fla.; wife, Erica Sue (Leland) Cyr of Sabattus; children Hunter and Hailey Williams; grandchild, Emma Marie Williams; godparents Richelle Nota Wallace and Mike Foster; his dog companion, Stoli; many aunts, uncles and cousins in both the Cyr and Foster families; and his abundance of friends. Beau cherished you all dearly!

He was predeceased by; his father, Walter Alyre Cyr; paternal grandparents, Alyre and Therese Cyr, maternal grandparents Robert and Betty Foster; aunt, Linda Cyr; and best bud, Ray Champagne.

A special thank you to all the staff at Gulf Side Hospice and Florida Cancer Institute for Walter’s care.
