Dolores Claire LaBonte

AUDUBON, Pa. – Dolores Claire LaBonte (nee Lavoie), of Audubon, Pa., passed on April 18, 2021. She was formerly from the Lewiston/Auburn area in Maine, and of Newportville, Pa. She was 96.

Born on Aug. 20, 1924, in St. Antonin, P.Q., Canada, to Ernest Lavoie, Sr. and Claudia (nee Martin), Dolores was one of 15 children born to them. She was the second youngest and most recently became the longest lived at 96 years, seven months and 29 days. Dolores was the last surviving member of the “first generation” of Ernest and Claudia Lavoie. After her birth, the family emigrated to Lewiston.

On Dec. 1, 1945, Dolores married the love of her life, Eugene Alfred LaBonte, who passed on Sept. 9, 2001.

Dolores is survived by her four children: Rosanne Taylor (Howard), Ronald (LeaAnn), Randy (Bernadette), and Janice LaBonte. She also has eight grandchildren: Susan, Brian, Jenna, Jaime, Bradford, Robert, Thomas and Daniel, and a number of great-grandchildren.

Dolores was fortunate to find love again and married Morgan Helmbold Fredericks Jr., in November of 2005. They lived together at Shannondell until he passed on Feb. 10, 2010.

Throughout her life, Dolores was an amazing cook. She enjoyed crafting, antique shopping, bowling, gambling, lobster, line dancing, and was an avid pinochle player.

Dolores was loved by many and will be sorely missed by all.

Dolores will be laid to rest in Washington Crossing National Cemetery with her husband, Eugene.
