Brian Carroll Chateauvert

LEWISTON – Our son and brother, Brian Carroll Chateauvert, passed away April 13, 2021, after several years of declining health. Brian was born Oct. 10, 1985, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston to Elaine (Adams) and Leland Chateauvert.

He was a lifelong resident of the Lewiston area. Brian attended Pettengill Elementary where he made many lifelong friends. He continued on to Lewiston Middle School and Lewiston High School. Brian had several jobs including Walmart, Wendy’s Zerox and Rowe Auburn. Eventually he was fully disabled due to diabetes, fibromyalgia and arthritis. Brian hosted a radio program on WRBC highlighting Maine musicians and their music. Many of these musicians became his friends. Brian was a huge pro wrestling fan all his life and had friends in the business all over the world. He made custom figurines of wrestlers that he sent to fans worldwide. He understood the business side of wrestling. He reached out to many older wrestlers who had become disabled and poor in their elder years. He connected with many through Facebook and many responded with thanks that he remembered them. Brian was a fan of Boston pro sports. He and his dad spent many hours watching the Celtics, Red Sox and Bruins. The games are not the same without him. He loved to watch Red Sox games with his Great Aunt Helen Hewins.

Brian leaves behind his mother and father of Lewiston, brother, Matthew Chateauvert and Matt’s wife Brenda Kolbow of Kennebunk.

He is also survived by his aunt, Anne (Roger LaPlante) of Lewiston, aunt, Cheryl (Robert Jordan) of Charlotte, N.C., Aunt Nancy (David Pottle) of West Gardiner, Aunt Donna (Robert Harris) of Farmingdale, Aunt Joan (Everett Bailey) of Belmont, N.H., aunt, Debra (Ed Bowie) of Readfield, uncle, Norman Hersom (Siv Larsen) of Portland, Ore., uncle, Mike Derocher and uncle, Bruce Clukey. Also, many cousins and great aunts and uncles too numerous to list.

Brian was predeceased by his grandparents, Byron and Yvette Adams, Doris Hersom and Carroll Chateauvert, Edie McRae and Calvin Hersom and two aunts, Diane Adams Clukey and Beverly Adams Derocher who had also lived in his household. Brian leaves behind his rescue cats, Calvin and Doris. He also leaves many special friends including David Bruce, Tyler Brooks and Walter Jones. A special thanks to Chad Toussaint. Chad and Brian became close friends at Walmart and Chad was Brian’s “Wing Man” for the last years of his life. As Brian’s health declined Chad was always there to help Brian with many day to day chores that he struggled with.

Big thanks to Aunt Nancy (Mimi) who was like a grandmother to Brian and always had homemade chicken soup for him when he visited.

At Brian’s request there will be no funeral. A time to express condolences is scheduled for Thursday, April 29, at Funeral Alternatives, 25 Tampa Street, Lewiston from 4-6 p.m. An informal graveside service will be announced at a later date.
