ALBANY, N.Y. — Sean Lawlor belted a grand slam in Game 1 and Maine got outstanding pitching from Nick Sinacola and Noah Lewis as it swept an America East baseball doubleheader Saturday against Albany, winning 14-2 and 7-6.

Sinacola (7-1) struck out 12, walked none and allowed six hits and one earned run in six innings in Game 1.

Lewis (3-3) pitched six innings in Game 2, giving up five hits and one run. Albany (13-18, 11-13 America East) nearly rallied from a 7-1 deficit, scoring two runs in the seventh and three in the ninth before the Black Bears (15-12, 10-9) finally closed it out.

USM SWEEPS UMF: Brogan Searle-Belanger drove in four runs in Game 1 and Andrew Olszak had five RBI in Game 2 as Southern Maine (19-8) rolled to pair of wins against UMaine-Farmington (3-15), defeating the Beavers 10-2 and 13-1 in Gorham.

Joshua Joy struck out 11 in seven scoreless innings in the opener, allowing just four hits and no walks.

In Game 2, Gage Feeney gave up only two hits in five scoreless innings. Olszak hit an RBI triple in the third inning, an RBI single in the fourth and a three-run homer in the seventh.

COLBY 9, BATES 4: Patrick McConnell went 3 for 6 and had an RBI triple during a five-run rally in the third inning that propelled the Mules (9-10) past the Bobcats (1-4) in Lewiston.

Jonah Katz, Cole Palmeri, Cabot Maher and Marcus Forrester each chipped in with a pair of hits.

Bryan Gotti drove in two runs for Bates.

SOFTBALL

BOWDOIN SWEEPS BATES: Lilly Armstrong drove in five runs with two doubles and a home run as the Polar Bears (4-6) completed a doubleheader sweep against the Bobcats (1-9) with a 15-3 victory in Brunswick, following an 8-1 win in Game 1.

Maddie Rouhana and Caroline Sablone each added three hits and combined for seven RBI in Game 2 as Bowdoin finished with 18 hits.

Katryna Dukehart’s two-run homer in the first inning sparked Bowdoin to its Game 1 win.

ENDICOTT SWEEPS UNE: Lauren Misiaszek homered in both games and Maria Hanchuk pitched a one-hitter in Game 2 as the Gulls (17-2) swept the Nor’easters (6-7) in a best-of-three Commonwealth Coast Conference semifinal series in Beverly, Massachusetts, winning 9-8 in nine innings in the opener and 13-0 in five innings in the second game.

Endicott won Game 1 on Keelin Spencer’s RBI single in the ninth, after UNE tied it with two runs in the seventh, on an RBI double by Makenzy Herron and a pinch-hit RBI single by Liz Scheurich. Herron went 3 for 5 with three RBI.

MAINE SWEPT BY UMBC: Sierra Pierce blasted a three-run homer as Maryland-Baltimore County (19-10, 8-4 America East) completed a doubleheader sweep against the Black Bears (11-18, 7-7) with a 4-0 win in Game 2, after taking an 11-0 victory in the opener at Baltimore, Maryland.

Kya Enos went 2 for 3 for the Black Bears in Game 1. Jasmine Gray got Maine’s only two hits in Game 2.

MEN’S LACROSSE

CONNECTICUT COLLEGE 13, BATES 12: Jackson Sell scored all three of his goals in a span of 6:36 in the fourth quarter to get the Bobcats (1-3, 0-3 NESCAC) within a goal, but the rally came up short against the Camels (3-3, 1-2) at New London, Connecticut.

Wil Masterson and Jack Vinci added two goals apiece for Bates.
