Riyad Mahrez scored twice to complete Manchester City’s journey to a first Champions League final with a 2-0 victory eliminating Paris Saint-Germain 4-1 on aggregate on Tuesday at Manchester, England.

After beginning City’s fightback in Paris last week, Mahrez took only 11 minutes to score in the semifinal second leg when he put the ball through the legs of goalkeeper Keylor Navas on a field covered in the remnants of a spring hailstorm.

The Paris-born forward completed a counterattack in the 63rd that began with a surging run with Phil Foden and combination with Kevin De Bruyne.

PSG lost its cool and composure, finishing the game with 10 men just like in the first leg after Angel Di Maria was sent off with 20 minutes to go for kicking at Fernandinho.

Chelsea and Real Madrid play their second leg on Wednesday after drawing the first leg 1-1.

The championship is May 29.

ITALIAN LEAGUE: Jose Mourinho was hired to coach Italian club Roma starting next season.

The move came a few hours after the club’s American owners announced that current coach Paulo Fonseca will depart at the end of this season. Mourinho’s contract is for three seasons.

Wilson will drive the No. 25 Honda with sponsorship from LOHLA SPORT, a women’s golf lifestyle brand. He will be attempting to qualify for his third Indy 500 and first since 2018, when fuel strategy put him in the lead with four laps remaining while driving for Andretti.

Wilson had to pit for gas when the late yellow flag he had hoped for never materialized and he finished 15th in his last IndyCar race.

Wilson is the 34th announced entry. Owner Roger Penske told The Associated Press he expects 36 cars when he opens Indianapolis Motor Speedway for race preparations.

Only 33 cars will qualify for the May 30 race.
