AUBURN — Kyle Labrecque was on fire, and left the rest of the field playing for second place.

Labrecque carded an even-par 123 over three rounds to earn a win in the 2021 Taber’s Spring Fling presented by Maine Mini Golf Tour at Taber’s Lakeside Stand and Restaurant on Saturday, May 2.

He easily outdistanced second-place finisher Justin Pelletier by nine strokes to earn the victory. Pelletier finished with a three-round total of 134, despite a tough final round 48.

Dan Brochu broke a three-way tie in third place on the third playoff hole, edging Richard Patrie (fourth) and Jordy Knoren (fifth). Nate Gromek placed sixth in the final money position.

In the junior division, Erin Pelletier fired a two-round total of 111 to win by eight over second-place Hazel Coolidge, who made a big turnaround in the second round, vaulting from fourth to second in a 17-stroke swing.

Sponsorships and prizes to make this inaugural event possible included contributions from Maple Rush Sugar House, Rowe Auburn, Apple Valley Golf Course, Melissa Patrie, Tabers Lakeside Stand and Restaurant, and Maine Mini Golf Tour.

Tabers Weekly League

The Tabers Weekly League has returned for the 2021 season, as well. Dan Brochu placed second and Jordy Knoren finished third to cap the cashing places.

The league continues each Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Tabers through August 4. Weekly and season-long prizes will be distributed.
