DIXFIELD – Mrs. Norine Clarke, 81, died Tuesday May 4, 2021, at her residence on Blayne Street in Dixfield, Maine.
Born in Rumford on Oct. 18, 1939, she was the daughter of Ernest and Alberta (Hohn) Hunt. Norine was a graduate of Mexico High School and the University of Maine at Orono. She owned and operated Log Cabin Craftworks in Dixfield. Norine was the Chairperson for the Dixfield Board of Selectman, member of the Dixfield Finance Committee, Economic Development Committee, on the board of directors for public access channel WVAC, member of Searchlight, Book Club, and hosted a Monday night sewing class. Norine was also a Cub Scout Den Mother and was active in the Rumford Area Youth Hockey Association and Dixfield Little League.
She was married in Rumford, on Aug. 5, 1961, to Ralph E. Clarke who died in Auburn, on Dec. 1, 2013.
Norine is survived by her sons, R. Brian Clarke and wife Maureen of West Hartford, Conn., and Neil Clarke and wife Allyn of Littleton, N.H., her daughter, Melanie Clarke of Auburn, and her grandsons, Benjamin Clarke of Littleton, N.H., and Matthew Clarke and fiancé Ashley Belmonte of Littleton, N.H.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4-8 p.m., on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford. Interment will be in the Demeritt Cemetery in Peru.
