Following several discussions in class surrounding the topic of world hunger, upper elementary students at Oxford Hills Christian Academy decided to do what they could to help out by collecting cash donations. Students set a goal of raising $200 to send to Samaritan’s Purse, an organization working to meet the physical and spiritual needs of people around the world through hunger relief programs. These programs include therapeutic feeding for malnourished children and nursing mothers, emergency food distributions in crisis situations, hot meals for orphans and the elderly, and food parcels for families in poor neighborhoods. OHCA students managed to exceed their goal, raising a total of $320 to donate toward the cause.
