AUBURN — Maine College of Health Professions’ recently added licensed practical nursing certificate program is Maine’s first and only Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing-accredited program.
Assistant Dean Leanne Moreira manages the college’s 12-month LPN program, which is one of only two ACEN-accredited programs in Northern New England. Courses begin each January, with students completing the program the following semester. Applications for the January 2022 class are being accepted at mchp.edu.
Accreditation promotes excellence by ensuring a program is meeting standards of educational quality specific to nursing education through the comprehensive peer review process. ACEN is the only accrediting agency that accredits all types of nursing programs that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
