Juliana Elaine (Navarro) Thayer

KEENE, N.H. – Juliana Elaine (Navarro) Thayer, 33, passed away on May 15, 2021, during recovery following a recent procedure against cancer in Playa de Rosarito, Mexico. She battled cancer for one-and-a-half years. She was the loving wife of Daniel Thayer with whom she shared six years of marriage.

Juliana was born May 12, 1988, in Farmington, Maine. She was the daughter of Antonio and Betty (Bryant) Navarro of Farmington. She resided in Keene, N.H. for the past year and previously resided in Winchendon, Massachusetts, Portland, Maine, and grew up in Farmington, Maine.

Juliana joined the 243rd Engineering Installations Squadron Sept. 16, 2014. She traveled with the 243rd more than a dozen times to England, Nevada, Ohio, and Vermont. She deployed to Qatar in 2019 in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel. Juliana’s awards include Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Expeditionary Medal with Gold Border, Air Force Longevity Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Service Medal with 1 “M” Device and Air Force Training Ribbon. During Juliana’s time with the 243rd she proved herself to be not only an excellent Airman, mentor, and leader, but a true friend to everyone she met.

Juliana treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. She also enjoyed making crafts, painting, cooking, baking, traveling, exercising and volunteering at Ruck Up, a veterans outreach center. She was extremely passionate about helping people to improve their health.

In addition to her loving husband, Dan and her parents, Antonio and Betty, Juliana is survived by her daughter Valentina Thayer, her five sisters: Laura Rodriguez, Melissa Lovely, Nicolasa Navarro, Cristina Navarro, Isabela Navarro, seven nieces and nephews: Bianca Lucio, Kaius Rodriguez, Xavier Lovely, Alektra Lovely, Autumn Lacomis, Adriana Navarro, Bear Navarro, Her mother and father in laws David and Rhonda Thayer and Jean and Leo Shepard.

Juliana’s visiting hours will be in the New Beginnings Church of God, 392 Main St. Waterville, Maine on Thursday, May 27, 2021, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., noon.
