OXFORD — A Lewiston motorcyclist was seriously injured late Wednesday afternoon in a collision with a box truck near 290 Gore Road, according to the Oxford Police Department.

Michael Olcott, 38, suffered severe head and leg injuries, Oxford Police Department Capt. Rickie Jack said Wednesday evening.

Olcott was rounding a curve headed toward Norway when his bike went partially into the oncoming lane, hitting the dual wheels on the driver’s side of a 2020 Freightliner truck registered to Rider Truck Rental, Jack said. The driver, Michael Hussey, 37, of Norway tried to avoid the collision, Jack said.

Olcott was taken by ambulance to the Oxford County Regional Airport where he was flown by LifeFlight to a medical center.

Olcott’s 2020 Harley-Davidson was demolished, Jack said.

Oxford Police Officer Joe Correia investigated, assisted by Police Chief Michael Ward and Jack.
