Brookfield Renewable U.S. recently awarded a $10,000 grant to Mahoosuc Land Trust and $5,000 to Rangeley Connects.

The Mahoosuc Land Trust grant was for Shelburne Riverlands and Tumbledown Dick Mountain conservation projects.

The Rangeley Connects grant was awarded to Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust for community response efforts to COVID-19.

A total of $60,000 in grants was awarded to community organizations and nonprofits within Brookfield Renewable’s operational footprint. As Maine’s largest generator of renewable energy, the company operates hydro facilities on the Penobscot, Kennebec, Androscoggin and Saco rivers with wind and battery storage facilities throughout the state. The grants represent part of the annual philanthropic contributions that go to support basic needs, veteran organizations, conservation efforts, and educational programs in Maine.
