OXFORD — A Lewiston motorcyclist died from his injuries suffered in a collision with a box truck last week on Gore Road, according to the Oxford Police Department.
Michael Olcott, 38, suffered severe head and leg injuries May 26 and died from those injuries, said Capt. Rickie Jack said. Olcott was not wearing a helmet, Jack said.
Olcott was rounding a curve headed toward Norway when his bike hit the dual wheels on the driver’s side of a 2020 Freightliner truck registered to Ryder Truck Rental, Jack said. The driver, Michael Hussey, 37, of Norway tried to avoid the collision, Jack said.
Olcott’s 2020 Harley-Davidson was demolished, Jack said.
Authorities are still reconstructing the collision to determine the cause of the crash, Jack said.
