AUBURN – On May 23, 2021, the world got a little quieter without the infectious laughter of Janet Morse. Born Janet Bertha Christman on April 7, 1953, in Lewiston, she was the oldest child and only daughter of her parents Raymond J. Christman and Bernadette L. (Boisvert) Christman. Janet graduated Leavitt Area High School in 1971 and shortly thereafter married and had her three children. In her thirties, Janet pursued her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maine in Farmington in special education and spent the rest of her career teaching special education and touching the many lives of those she taught and worked with in the Auburn School system.Janet was a lover of so many things. She loved spending time at camp, being a mèmére to her two grandchildren, going on road trips with her brother, Mike, going to the movies, spoiling her family at Christmastime, and solo dance parties and concerts in her car or at home to Rick Springfield, Michael Jackson or Toni Braxton. She was the center of her family, the go-to, and the glue that kept everyone connected. A constant source of positivity, she helped so many others push through difficult times and find the brighter side. She approached life with brilliant joy and a raucous sense of humor and took every opportunity to make an inappropriate joke or comment to make others smile.Janet was predeceased by her parents, Raymond and Bernadette Christman.Janet is survived by her three children, Erin Jon Maschino and husband George of Durham, Joshua Hal Morse of Greene and Zachary Jacob Morse and wife Yolanda of Westbrook. She is also survived by her three younger brothers Michael Christman of Windham, Mark Christman and wife Trish of Greene, and Paul Christman and wife Jana of Litchfield. She is survived by her niece and nephews, Eli, Emma and Will Christman and by her two grandchildren, Anna Maschino and George Maschino III, whom she had a special bond with. Janet is also survived by her lifelong best friend, Brenda Carney as well as many other family and friends.A celebration of life is currently being planned by her three children, and details will be provided to friends and family.Condolences may be found online at http://www.albert-burpee.com.
