DEAR SUN SPOTS: The members of Woman’s Literary Union need your help in supporting our scholarship and mansion restoration funds. On Saturday, June 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., we will be holding a combined Garage Sale and Craft Fest Fair at the Foss Mansion at 19 Elm Street, Auburn.

Inside the mansion, we will have used books, greeting cards, Boyd’s Bears from 4 inches to 4 feet tall, jewelry, hand-made American Girl doll clothes, fabric, craft supplies, and holiday decorations.

Outside we will have antique dishes, puzzles, picture frames, vases, kitchen items, pots and pans, knick-knacks, toys, purses and wallets. Many of these donated items are unused and in their original boxes.

The Woman’s Literary Union of Androscoggin County is a 501(c) (3) charitable nonprofit organization. For more information visit womansliteraryunion.org or call Kathy Lawrence at 795-6134 or email at kathylawrence.maine@gmail.com . — Kathy, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Center for Wisdom’s Women in Lewiston is hoping to find one or more women who would like to become volunteer “companions” to the women who come to our drop-in center.

In brief, a companion is a person over 21 years of age with a background in one of the following: social work, teaching, chaplaincy, nursing, etc. Companions must be able to be present and supportive of women from a wide variety of backgrounds and situations.

We are currently open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers generally work one day a week.

CWW is a women-only facility that provides friendship and support, offers craft projects, skill-learning workshops and more. We would love to have Sun Spots readers who would like to learn more call us at 513-3922 to arrange a time to visit the Center. Sun Spots, thanks for all you do for our community! — Sonia, CWW Volunteer Coordinator, Lewiston

ANSWER: The wonderful people who are in charge of this facility and the volunteers are very special people who reach out and truly help those women who need comfort and guidance as they move forward with their lives. What an amazing thing to be part of! If you are interested in discovering how you can be involved, give them a call. DEAR SUN SPOTS: I read a while ago that Target was going in to the old Kmart building on Center St. I haven’t seen any work going on there so I’m wondering if it’s still happening. If not, maybe it would be a good place for senior housing.

Thank you, Sun Spots, for all you do for the community. We know we can always turn to you with a question. — No name, no town

ANSWER: Hopefully, the 105,000-square-foot store will be open by Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving). Remember, you can always call the fabulous people at your municipality to get the answers to these kinds of questions, but I’m always here for you, too!

You can always come to the Topsham Fair Mall if you can’t wait to do the Target thing.
