100 Years Ago: 1921

The Women’s Home Missionary Society of the High Street Methodist Church entertained “Mother’s Jewels”, the junior society, in the vestry Thursday afternoon. A fine program and games were in order, and refreshments were served. A large number of parents and children were present. Mrs. A.E. Chitenden is president of the society.

50 Years Ago: 1971

Mrs. Marcia Moulin entertained the Lake Grove Extension Women at her East Auburn home Tuesday evening for the final meeting of the season. The evening was highlighted by a potluck supper after which the new chairman, Mrs. Ethelyn Allen conducted the business session. Plans were discussed for the coming season which will open on Sept. 7 at the Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute.

25 Years Ago: 1996

The regular meeting of Stevens Mills Grange will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, at the grange hall. The memorial service is in charge of Mrs. Helen Hammond, chaplain of the group. Refreshments will be served following the meeting, and visitors from neighboring granges are cordially invited.
