Margaret “Peggy” M. Staples

SOUTH PARIS – Margaret “Peggy” M. Staples, 83, passed away on Monday June 14, 2021, at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris with her loving family by her side. She was born Dec. 19, 1937, in Boston, a daughter of the late Francis and Hilda (Komulainen) Healy. She graduated from Paris High School in 1956 as Salutatorian of her class. She married Arnold E. Staples in February of 1958 and together they owned and operated Staples General Store in Welchville for several years, and then owned and operated laundromats for many years. But she was most proud of being a homemaker and raising her children.

Margaret was a member of American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and the Eastern Star. But above all she was a big supporter of her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors; her family meant the world to her.

She was predeceased by her parents Francis and Hilda Staples; her beloved husband, Arnold; her cherished son, Frederick Staples II; and a brother, Francis Healy.

She is survived to cherish her memory by her two daughters, Kelly Langbehn and Christine Staples of Norway; her five grandchildren, Christa Langbehn, Carl Langbehn, Daniel and Joseph Staples and Shea Staples; her sister, Lynda Healy-Rejkowski, and three brothers Thomas, Dennis and Richard Healy.

A memorial service will be held on June 28 at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in South Paris.
