Multiday Excursions – Explore the Rangeley Lakes Region with Saddleback Adventures

On your visit to the Rangeley Lakes Region, consider getting the grand tour with one of Saddleback’s Registered Maine Guides on a three-day custom itinerary of outdoor excursions. Saddleback Adventures invites you to explore the waterways and trails, take in sights of abundant wildlife and fauna and learn a thing or two about our local origins. For three consecutive days, you can book one excursion per day with a Saddleback Guide. Daily excursions include paddling on one of our four major lakes, a scenic hike in the Western Maine mountains, and mountain bike tours, peddling through the Maine north woods. All trips will be planned and lead by your own Saddleback Registered Maine Guide. Trips include a picnic lunch, prepared by our own chefs. The multiday excursions bundle is customizable and we can help you build out the adventures your group is looking for.

Saddleback Bike Tours

Come ride with Saddleback Adventures!! We provide all equipment, lunch, and your Mountain Bike Tour Guide. Choose a full day tour that includes unique stops along the way or a half day scenic bike tour, following some of Rangeley region’s most scenic gravel roads. Experience the beauty of the Rangeley lakes region by mountain bike. Each tour will include a delicious lunch specially prepared by our Mountain chefs. With trips spanning from the backside of Saddleback Mountain to the shores of Mooselookmeguntic lake, we have something for everyone of all riding abilities.

SCOTT mountain bike rentals – Partnership with AJ’s Cycles

Saddleback Adventures is partnering with AJ’s Cycles to offer Mountain Bike Rentals to the Rangeley Lakes Region and beyond. The SCOTT Ransom 920 rental fleet is a full suspension mountain bike, up for single track or gravel riding. Available in all adult sizes.

Located on Route 16 in Rangeley, AJ’s Cycles will be taking reservations for full day bike rentals. Start date coming soon. Keep an eye on Saddleback Maine website for updates.

Saddleback Paddle Excursions

Explore by boat! Saddleback Adventures offers guided canoe, kayak and SUP trips in the beautiful Rangeley Lakes Region for the beginner and seasoned paddler alike. Paddling excursions will explore one of the four most classic lakes in the region, each with a different unique paddle experience. All of our full day excursions will include a full lunch prepared by our Saddleback chefs. Equipment for each trip will be provided by Saddleback Adventures.

Encounter the peaks and valleys of western Maine on a guided hike with Saddleback Adventures! Nestled in the heart of the western mountains of Maine, Saddleback Mountain has some of the state’s most sought after hikes just footsteps away. Saddleback Adventures can guide you on any of these hikes taking the load off your mind and shoulders. Join Saddleback Adventures for a guided all ages hike this summer!! Sponsored by L.L.Bean this free hiking series lineup includes a range of attractions. Whether looking for a meandering path leading to a waterfall, or a panoramic view from a 4,000 ft peak, come alone or bring the whole family, this series has a hike for you. Does not include lunch. Dates: Sundays July 11th through Aug 22nd

Maine is home to 14, 4,000 ft peaks, Saddleback Mountain is lucky enough to be nestled right in the heart of the county containing 10 of these peaks. Come meet up with other likeminded hikers who wish to complete these 10 peaks in our 7 hike series. Let the Saddleback Adventure guides do all the trip planning and organizing to get you to the top of one or more of these high peaks to enjoy the sense of accomplishment and beauty found in the mountains. These hikes are very challenging and arduous, hikers will need to be competent with good physical stamina.

Saddleback Mountain Yoga

The Saddleback yoga series invites you to the newly renovated lodge to participate in our indoor/ outdoor yoga sessions overlooking Saddleback Lake. June sessions will meet indoors and July dates will move to our mountain side deck for open air yoga. Look to the Saddleback Maine website to find the right class for you.

In a Casting Clinic with Bill Richards, he will share his tried and true casting techniques and skill, covering the basics and his tips and tricks. No matter your experience, you will come away with new skills to add to your quiver. Rods are supplied for the clinic and appropriate flies. Starting at Saddleback Mountain Lodge, Bill will lead you through best equipment practice and casting exercises. We will break for lunch, overlooking beautiful Saddleback Lake, before heading out to a local pond for an hour of on water practice. A Maine Fishing License is required for the pond casting practice. Purchase of day license can be made online.

Bird Excursions on Saddleback

Meeting Location- The Saddleback Adventures front desk on 2nd floor in the lodge.

Saddleback Mountain is one of many stops for a plethora of migrating birds and provide a thriving habitat to the Bicknell’s Thrush. Join one of our guided hikes up the ski resort to scan the hill side and take in the vast Northwesterly views over the greater Rangeley Lakes Region. Each participant will be provided a picnic lunch to be enjoyed on the outing.

Take a Guided paddle with Nick Leadley to observe loons of the Rangeley Lake Region. Nick is a specialized bird photographer and loon enthusiast. He has been photographing common loons and native wildlife for 20 years plus. He prides himself in sharing the splendors of the Rangeley region including its native inhabitants and fauna. On these common loon paddles, take in the sights from a kayak accompanied by Nick’s rich knowledge of this wild corner of Maine.

Meeting Location- Ecopelagicon, A Nature Store on Pond St. in Rangeley. Guests must arrive 20 minutes prior to their scheduled activity time.
