PARIS — Christopher Summers was elected Monday as chairman of the Board of Selectmen for 2021-22.

He has been vice chairman for the past year. Scott McElravy will serve as vice chairman for the coming year.

Monday’s meeting was the first for newly elected Selectman Walter Perry, who defeated previous Chairman Rusty Brackett earlier this month.

Town Manager Dawn Noyes read a letter from Buckfield interim Town Manager Bradley Plante, who thanked Town Clerk Elizabeth Knox and town officials for helping Buckfield run its election June 8. The Town Office has also been helping Buckfield officials since November by handling car registrations. That agreement is expected to end this month.

Selectmen also accepted a special entertainment permit for the Celebration Barn Theater on Stock Farm Road. The board had renewed the liquor license at its last meeting.

McElravy brought up a citizen complaint about speeding vehicles on Ryerson Hill Road and hoped the town could do something to slow traffic on that stretch of road.
