Barbara “Joyce” Hebert

JAY – Barbara “Joyce” Hebert, 87, a resident of Jay, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 4 at her residence. She was born Aug. 16, 1933 in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Daniel Steward and Faye (Sweetser) Steward.

She was a 1951 graduate of Livermore Falls High School and graduated from Central Maine School of Nursing in 1954. On Oct. 23, 1954 in Bangor she married Patrick “Sonny” Hebert. Joyce worked as a registered nurse at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington and for International Paper Company in Jay.

She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She enjoyed swimming, fishing, snowmobiling, dancing at the V.F.W., going to the coast and traveling.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Sonny Hebert of Jay. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Anita Abbott. Messages of condolence may be sent to: http://www.finleyfuneralhome.com

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday, July 9 at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1 Church Street, Jay. Arrangements by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls.
