DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Mexico Historical Society is seeking expertise and recommendations for the repair and conservation of the stained-glass windows in the Wills Homestead Museum. The society is also fundraising for the expenses related to this endeavor. Contact the society through its Facebook page. Correspondence or donations may be mailed to Mexico Historical Society, 3 Oxford St., Mexico, ME 04257. — Caroline, Mexico

ANSWER: When I saw this letter, I immediately called the dynamic and ultra-talented Jim Nutting at Maine Art Glass Studio(maineartglass.com, 353-6700) in Lisbon Falls and gave him your contact information. He has completed dozens of projects of this type throughout the state.

If you haven’t visited the Maine Art Glass Museum at 51 Main St. you are totally missing out. There is nothing else quite like it in Maine or anywhere.

As far as fundraising for your museum, once you have a good solid estimate, you may want to start a GoFundMe page. It’s easy to use and will help you get the word out even faster. Please let me know if there is anything more I can do to help you as your project moves along.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We have a knapsack and a tent with broken heavy-duty zippers. Please recommend a business or seamstress in the Lewiston-Auburn area who can do this kind of work. — Chris, no town.

ANSWER: The Tent Shop in Monmouth (312-0493) should be able to help you. The company also rents tents for parties, so hang on to that information! There are other tent and canvas companies throughout the mid-coast and southern Maine area if needed.

You can also try a shoe repair shop or an upholstery shop. They have the right equipment to repair zippers in that heavy-duty material. I can recommend Paul’s Shoe Repair in Lisbon (854-4338); Doreen Gendron at Unique Designs (754-0048); and Donna Marie Harrington at Gamache and Lessard Custom Window Treatments. She is their in-house upholsterer but is self-employed under the business name Comfy Cushion Upholstery by Donna. You can reach her at 212-6195 or e-mail her at thecomfycushionupholstery@gmail.com.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I know you can find almost anything in your files. I want to use my old Tupperware canister set, but I’ve lost many of the covers. I am looking for a local Tupperware demonstrator who may be able to help me order the replacements.

Thanks for all you do for the folks in our communities. — Karen, Fayette

ANSWER: OK, Sun Spotters, if you know of any local Tupperware dealers, please share their contact information. It would be great to have a local dealer’s name in the Rolodex.

If all else fails, I have the website for a Tupperware representative who sells online. You can go here: https://my.tupperware.com/klcarlow/ and fill out an email form.

Or perhaps a reader has some Tupperware canisters with the lids that they no longer use stored in a cupboard.

I have also had good luck at yard sales and vintage shops finding barely used Tupperware. Last year, I found the famous ice pop molds in perfect condition at a vintage shop.
